Claire & Ed Tie the Knot

I had the privilege on Saturday of sharing a very special day with an amazing group of people. It is so obvious that this couple were made for each other. I could try and explain the moments further, but I would rather let the pictures do the talking as I am at a loss...

Jewellery

This week I did a shoot for a local jewellery manufacturer, Lucy Q. I was familiar with their work, but was not prepared for the amazing and iconic items of jewellery that were the main focus of the shoot. Made of solid silver, the items were simply organic in their design. My personal favourite was the 'drips' range with the necklace that made it look as though the wearer was simply 'dripping' with molten silver.

Of course this lead to a number of challenges with the highly polished finish. Controlling exposure and reflections was tricky but we managed with simple natural light. We were fortunate enough to have the services of Kayleigh Page, an experienced model whose quick responses to requests really helped to make the shoot run smoothly, even when things got a little chilly.

Feedback from the shoot is great and I look foward to seeing the images in ultra-large format for their marketing events. For more information on their range visit www.silverdesignerjewellery.co.uk.

Just a Foot?

It's just a foot. A little foot. But this foot could lead to great things. The first step. The first kick of a ball. The first hop, skip and jump. The first dance. The first day at school. The first job. And maybe one day, the pitter patter of tiny feet of its own...

Winter Smile

This winter weather can sometimes make you want to hibernate and wait until spring to get pictures. Personally I like the crisp cold days. This little girl looked great in her colourful warm hat with her lovely hair. Her antics made for a memorable day and pleasing images for her mum.

From One Thing to Another

I just love how one thing can lead to another. Having produced the images for the very well received Acresfield Primary School prospectus, we have now created a display for the school's reception area. I put the pictures up this week and Jackie, the school bursar, is thrilled with them. We are just awaiting the return of the headmaster after half term to hear his feedback, not to mention the children's. I must say that the acrylic display system really sets the images off to good effect and is so flexible to use.

I have to thank Matt at Mortimer Design for providing the school logo to incorporate into the display. It really makes it come together.

Beginnings

The First Step is the Hardest - ©Max Stein

If you can get up the courage to begin, you have the courage to succeed.

Begin where you are, work were you are. The hour which you are now wasting, dreaming of some far off success, may be crowded with grand possibilities.

The first essential of success is that you begin. Once you have started, all that is within and without you will come to your assistance.

Do not wait. The time will never be "just right". Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you have at your command. Better tools will be found as you go along.

Eighty percent of success is showing up.
